In the lead up to the 2022 Victorian duck season, We will be keeping everyone updated with the latest duck season reports, including wetland/swamp water levels, duck counts, and wetland closures.

Taylors Lake Horsham, Still holding a good amount of water, most of the lake can be accessed by boat, few mobs of teal, wood ducks, and black ducks were recorded.
Rocklands Reservoir, Low water making it mostly wadeable, few mobs of teal and blackies spotted.
Lake Lonsdale, Stawell, Very low water most ducks reported were a few mobs of teal, blackies, and pink eared ducks up near the main boat ramp.
Lake Murphy, Kerang Almost full this season, Only a few small mobs of teal and a few black ducks were recorded over the weekend.
Bael Bael, Kerang. Low water making it mostly wadeable in parts, few good mobs of Teal, pink eared ducks, and black ducks were recorded.
Cairn Curran Reservoir, Open lake most ducks were noticed out in the middle, A few mobs of Teal, black duck and pink ear were recorded.
Lake Merderduke Winchelsea, Open lake with very limited cover, a few large mobs of mountain ducks recorded on the lake.
Lake Burrumbeet, Ballarat. Still holing a good amount of water, a boat is required to access most hunt able parts of the lake, Good mobs of teal, black ducks and a few mountain ducks were reported.
Lake Bolac, Still holding a good amount of water, most of the ducks we recorded were on the north end of the lake, a good amount of ducks including teal, black ducks, mountain ducks, and wood ducks.
Dowds Morass, Gippsland. Still holding a good amount of water after recent rainfall most parts can be waded or accessed by boat, Good mobs of teal, black ducks and mountain ducks were reported.
Lake Coleman, Gippsland. Still holding a good amount of water after last years floods, few decent mobs of grey and chestnut teal, blackies, and mountain ducks reported.
Lake Reeves, Gippsland. Still good amount of water, few decent mobs of grey and chestnut teal, blackies, and mountain ducks, were reported.

-Wetlands that are CLOSED for hunting.
-Tower Hill State Game Reserve (13 km north-west of the township of Warrnambool) will be partially closed to hunting due to a significant number of Blue-billed Duck. The western half of the lake will be closed to hunting, but the eastern half of the lake will remain open.
-Bryan Swamp State Game Reserve, north-west of Dunkeld, will be closed to protect Australasian Bittern detected at the reserve.
-Green Swamp State Game Reserve, near Glenthompson, will be closed to protect Brolga.
-Lake Wongan State Game Reserve, north-east of Streatham, will be closed to protect Brolga.
-Lake Muirhead State Game Reserve north-west of Willaura, will be closed to protect Brolga.
